About

As a digital marketing professional specializing in e-commerce, retail and business strategy, I’ve worked for some of the largest retailers, including Cabela’s, Patagonia and QVC as part of their in-house marketing teams to design and implement successful campaigns to grow revenue and acquire new customers.  These campaigns have been featured in Google case studies, at industry conferences, and are featured throughout my portfolio on this website.  After several years of experience actively engaged in retail's transformation from print/ brick-and-mortar to digital, I'm passionate about helping retailers achieve their objectives through innovative digital strategies.  These strategies include: paid search, paid social, display, mobile, A/B testing, influencer marketing and tracking online-to-offline conversion data.

Since graduating from Villanova University in the Philadelphia suburbs, I’ve lived and worked in Colorado, Nebraska and Southern California.  Through my work, and my time in these exciting locales, I’ve been exposed to a variety of new experiences, such as: surfing, skiing, climbing, camping, hunting, fly-fishing, and archery. I’ve achieved several personal and professional milestones, such as assuming roles of increasing responsibility, mentoring junior team members, receiving several awards and certifications, purchasing a home and pursuing an MBA.

After several years as a member of high-performing teams, at work and in graduate school, I can confidently say that I work well in teams, and teams I’m a part of are stronger because of it.  I’m comfortable sharing my opinion in a group setting, building on others’ ideas, positing alternate viewpoints and finding ways to reach consensus.  In a corporate or consulting setting, I would bring these skills to the table, along with the leadership skills I’ve developed as a manager in the corporate field.

My Story

Growing up, I lived overseas in Brussels, Beijing and Seoul, due to my dad’s job in the aerospace industry.  My parents are fluent in several languages, and French was my first language, having been exposed to it at a young age while living in Brussels.  Living and traveling across Europe and Asia has expanded my worldview, and is an integral part of who I am today.  I frequently observed parties hosted by my parents to foreign dignitaries and ambassadors; as a result, cooking and entertaining is one of my hobbies, in addition to the aforementioned outdoor pursuits.

My dad, who has worked in sales and marketing for several major aerospace companies, has a PhD in Economics, and has authored several books on the aerospace industry, including “Marketing in the International Aerospace Industry”, the foremost textbook for university courses in Marketing focused on the aerospace industry.  He has also served as an interim U.S. advisor to NATO and has worked as a paid consultant to the CIA.  My mother is an award-winning caterer and event planner to clients on Philadelphia’s Main Line, such as Michael Smerconish, M. Night Shyamalan and Rudy Giuliani.

My grandfather was a retired Rear Admiral, a graduate of the Naval Academy and a veteran of three wars.  He served in WWII with Adm. Arleigh Burke’s famed “Little Beaver” destroyer squadron, commanded a destroyer escort in Korean waters and a destroyer squadron in Vietnamese waters.  After retiring from the Navy, he was a consultant with the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory where he helped develop and deploy the Aegis weapons system.

My BHAGs

According to management consultant and writer Jim Collins, a Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) is a "powerful way to stimulate progress. A BHAG is clear and compelling, needing little explanation; people get it right away".  For large corporations, a BHAG is similar to a vision statement used to focus strategic business objectives and has been used by visionary companies such as Boeing.  On a personal level, as an entity of one, I have used the BHAG concept to achieve my own goals.

As a lifelong learner, I seek opportunities to gain new skills and challenge myself outside of work to learn more about myself and stretch beyond my comfort zone.  Hobbies are an important way to de-stress from the demands of a corporate environment, and they can provide physical and emotional benefits that make me more productive on the job.  My current BHAGs are 1) to obtain my residential real estate license to assist my friends and family with their real estate deals, as well as make commission on my own transactions, and 2) to obtain my ASA Sailing Certification so I can charter boats and sail up and down the East Coast!
